Melted MagSafe Power Adapter
By Mathew Maher on Apr 29, 2008 in Apple, Life
So, last night I was sitting on the sofa watching TV and charging my Early 2006 model Apple MacBook notebook. I finished up some work, did some surfing, chatting, etc. while waiting waiting for my battery to charge up.
I decided to pack things up around 9:30, only once I starting to wrap up my power adaptor I noticed something on my power adaptor - the cable from the power adaptor frayed and melted at the block - photos below:
Needless to say I was surprised to see this happen. I did some quick research online and found that most cases of MagSafe Melts were at the connector on the cord - and in some cases on the computer itself - thankfully that didn’t happen to my computer. So, as my battery drained as I did my searches onward into the night, I decided to set up an appointment at Apple’s Mall of Georgia store and took my melted power adopter to the Genius Bar, explained what happened and got a free replacement.
And to be quite honest, the guy at the Genius Bar was awesome, answered all of my questions - related to the power adaptor and not-related to the power adaptor.
