Melted MagSafe Power Adapter

April 29th, 2008

So, last night I was sitting on the sofa watching TV and charging my Early 2006 model Apple MacBook notebook. I finished up some work, did some surfing, chatting, etc. while waiting waiting for my battery to charge up.

I decided to pack things up around 9:30, only once I starting to wrap up my power adaptor I noticed something on my power adaptor – the cable from the power adaptor frayed and melted at the block – photos below:

Apple Time Capsule Review

April 9th, 2008

Apple introduced their idea of a solution for backing up notebooks with Time Machine back in January at Macworld 2008, called “Time Capsule.” It’s an interesting contraption.

At first I was a bit skeptical and put-off with the device and with Apple. I was upset with Apple with this device, which makes Apple appear that they’re becoming more like Microsoft. The device is supposed to relieve the issue that notebook users with Mac OS X Leopard, Apple’s newest operating system, can use Time Machine to automatically back up the notebooks files.

The Time Capsule is pretty much the same thing an Airport Extreme Base Station, aside from the fact that the Time Capsule has a built in hard drive. But, once again, Apple has released a product that I’ve found flaws with its options, offerings, and has, well, come up short in my expectations of an amazing Apple product. » Read more: Apple Time Capsule Review

Leopoard has Arrived

November 5th, 2007

Leopoard has Arrived leopard box.thumbnailSo, about a week ago Apple released it’s 6th major release to the Mac OS X system. A few days before its release, Apple had a pre-order system set up. So, being the geek that I am, I pre-ordered. On Friday 26th, I received my package, and Apple officially started selling the OS. Upon opening the box, I was greeted with a reflective, holographic-like package. I opened the box and pulled out the Mac OS X “Leopard” 10.5 DVD and slipped the disc into my MacBook and started the installation.

The Installation said to save all of my work and press the “Restart” button within the dialog box. A few seconds later, the installation started. I selected my language and my options and the installation started. Having previously watched the Leopard installation movie from Apple’s website, I knew it would take between an hour or two to fully install and reboot the computer.

Apple’s iPhone is Released!

Apples iPhone is Released! a660205213 711578 5442.thumbnail

The long awaited Apple iPhone finally debuted on June 29th at 6 P.M. No, I didn’t get to wait in line to see the magic device. I had to leave work and go pick up my dad from coming home from being out on the road for work for the week. After which, we came home and dad rested and I worked on some projects. Later on we went out to eat at a restaurant near an AT&T store. While we were eating dinner, the sky opened up and it just poured. After about 10 or 15 minutes, it let up some and we left and drove over to the AT&T store. And I experienced the first ever, Apple iPhone mobile phone device. This thing is amazing as it is now, although it is lacking some features; major features in my opinion.

I wasn’t able to get a good chance to tinker around with it – not because of crowds – but the batteries were dead from hours of continuous use. Right up front was the iPhone display. A tall, white, gleaming rectangular ‘tower’ with a TV display and two iPhones docked for display and usage. Sitting side by side on a shelf there were two slick, shining, elegant iPhones.
